SBPD hosting and participating in events for National Police Week

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- National Police Week will be held and observed nationally from Sunday, May 11 to Saturday, May 17. The South Bend Police Department will be hosting and participating in several events.

On Friday, May 16, the annual Police Memorial Service will be held and will be open to the public. The FOP Lodges #36 and #155 will come together again for the annual Fallen Officer Memorial Service, which honors officers from the South Bend Police Department and St. Joseph County Police Department who have been killed in the line of duty. The service on May 16 will begin at 7:30 p.m. in front of the South Bend Police Department.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held inside SBPD’s auditorium.
